Bama CEO, Paula Marshall, Honored as Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma 2023 Trailblazer

Tulsa, OK, Friday, April 28: The Girls Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma held their annual event called the Go Girl Gala. This event is to honor the year’s Trailblazer. The Trailblazer is an honor given to a community member that has exemplified the spirit of the Girl Scouts by empowering young women on their journey to becoming courageous and confident leaders of tomorrow.

This year’s honoree was Bama Companies CEO, Paula Marshall. Marshall took over Bama Companies in the late 80s, becoming the third-generation owner. From there, lead by her entrepreneurial spirit, grit and leadership, she has grown the company into a multinational food manufacturing company, supplying some of the largest food service chains in the world.

This ye focused on the STEM field, emphasizing the significance of access to STEM learning for girls and showcasing the programming offered by Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma.  “Girl Scouts STEM programs, giving opportunities for girls to explore STEM from an early age, will change the industry landscape. Girls’ unique perspectives, experiences, and leadership styles will be invaluable as they enter the STEM workforce and begin their careers,” said Marshall.

 As stated on the Go Girl Gala website, this event will embody the spirit of the Girl Scout mission and founder, Juliette Gordon Low’s vision – to empower the girl scouts of today in their journey to become the courageous and confident leaders of tomorrow.

This year’s event took place as the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa. It included a live auction where guests could bid on everything from Luis Vuitton bags to deep sea fishing trips. There was also a seated dinner, live entertainment, guest speakers and dancing to close out the evening.

 The event raised more than $900,000 for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma.
