Tulsa-based Bama Companies, Inc. CEO, Paula Marshall, is featured in the latest edition of Commercial Baking Magazine. In the article, Marshall speaks to the history and legacy of Bama Companies. From her grandparents’ humble beginnings of the business, through her parents’ leadership and continuing through her for the past 35 years, Bama has continued to be a company focused on people.
From taking over after her father’s illness to expanding Bama into China, Poland and the United Kingdom, to taking on new customers and products, Paula’s journey has been one of taking opportunities.
Through it all, Paula credits the success of Bama over the years to the people and the culture of caring and accountability that she has instilled.
“When we are willing to help them, they’re willing to do their jobs at a high level and make great products for our customers,” she said. “To me, it makes perfect sense, and it’s how we’ve been able to retain talent, sometimes for 20 or 30 years.”
